Job Summary:

ASTECH Institute of IT and Management is seeking a dedicated and experienced Counselor to join our Student Services team. The Counselor will be responsible for providing comprehensive counseling services to students, including academic advising, personal counseling, and career guidance. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a commitment to supporting student success.

Required Skills

• Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, personal, and career-related issues.
• Conduct assessments to evaluate students' strengths, needs, and goals, and develop personalized counseling plans.
• Assist students in setting academic and career goals, and provide guidance on course selection, degree planning, and academic progress.
• Support students in developing effective study skills, time management strategies, and stress management techniques.
• Address student concerns and provide crisis intervention as needed, referring students to appropriate resources and services for further support.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other student services professionals to promote student well-being and academic success.
• Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and support groups on topics such as academic success, mental health awareness, and career development.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including progress notes, assessment results, and counseling plans.
• Stay informed about relevant policies, procedures, and resources within the institute and the broader community.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance counseling skills and stay current with best practices in student services.
